Director | Architect

Ian is the Practice Director and Principal Architect, responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice, overseeing and delivering projects.

Ian followed his love for design and the built environment to university. Graduating with a Masters in Architecture from the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture, Aberdeen, before qualifying as an Architect in 2009.

Before being appointed director of Ian McGregor Architects (formally Albyn Architects) Ian was the director of McGregor Garrow Architects. Prior to this, Ian held key roles in a number of architecture practices; Ian Rodger Architects, Halliday Fraser Munro, Space Solutions and Squire Associates.

Ian is an expert in providing exceptional residential and commercial projects, including new build homes, bespoke extensions, office and retail fit-outs, healthcare and community builds.

Associate Architect

Caroline has been a key member of the team since joining in 2018 as an Associate Architect.

Caroline qualified as an Architect in 2018 after completing her studies at Scott Sutherland School of Architecture. She is highly skilled in creating bespoke designs, leading projects and delivering on site. Caroline has many years of experience working on domestic, commercial and public projects and is also responsible for co-ordinating work with junior team members.

Caroline loves working with clients to understand and develop project briefs into fully considered design solutions.

Architectural Assistant

Elena joined the team as an Architectural Assistant in January 2023.

Having completed her studies in Glasgow, where she obtained her Masters in Architecture, Elena went on to gain experience working for architectural practices in Dublin, Banff, Glasgow and Dundee.

Elena is Passive House certified and uses this knowledge to develop her passion for architectural conservation and sustainable design. Elena is highly skilled in producing conceptual designs and is capable of producing high level visualisations to demonstrate proposed designs to clients.
