Northburn Extension

When it comes to extending your home, it is important to think about how you want to use your house and the space you would like to add.

For this project, the existing house contained a separate Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen. This layout doesn't suit the modern way of living so, by extending the footprint of the house, this created space for a large open plan Kitchen/Dining, overlooking the garden at the rear of the house. Natural daylight floods into the new space via large glazed doors and windows to both the front and rear, while new rooflights help to catch the daylight at different times of the day. Double doors open out to a newly paved Terrace, providing a perfect space for outdoor entertaining.

The existing Dining Room was converted into a luxurious Shower Room, complete with a Sauna...the finishing touch to creating a home to suit the requirements of the home owner.

Materials were chosen to complement the granite of the existing house, with a palette of dark grey timber cladding, bricks, windows and doors providing a modern aesthetic to the extension.
